Camping at Lake Eildon

The Walkers and the Joys braved another Melbourne cup long weekend and went camping up at Lake Eildon.  For the first time ever we managed to camp for the entire weekend without getting rained out!  We had lots of fun, came home exhausted and looking forward to next years adventure already.

The highlight of the weekend - look - no training wheels !Angus managed in one day to lose the training wheels, learn how to go over speed bumps, start and stop by himself and do skiddies (and of course keep up with the big kids!)

Abi's first dressage test

Now that Abi's a big 9 year old she thought it was time to start competing in horse events.  To just test the waters and see what it's all about she and Macey entered a 5A dressage competition (only a walk and trot test) where everyone was given a participation prize.  And as the exceedingly proud mother that I am I have to say she did a fantastic job.  She rode well, remembered her test and even remembered to smile at the judge when saluting at the end!  I couldn't have asked for more.  On the way back to the horse float Abi commented "I can't wait until the next one!"  I think she may be hooked (lucky!!)

Abi turns 9 !

Abi celebrated turning 9 in style - Nyah came over for dinner and helped decorate the B'day cake and then the weekend after her b'day she had a party at the new Watermark swimming complex - complete with tube water slides and bouncy inflatables.  I think "the best b'day ever" was heard more than once.

Quality time

Over the holidays the kids got to spend some quality time with Poppy and Nanny.  First yabbying in our dam and then a sleep over at Eyensbury and a trip to the Werribee zoo.

Start of the holidays

The start of the school holidays was a rippa - a beautiful spring day full of fun in the outdoors.

Having a rest by the bank of our creek

Hunting for millipedes in the dirt - doesn't get much better than this.

Emily's tooth

Early in September Emily lost her first tooth - she was very proud of such an achievement and then promptly hid it from the "tooth fairy" that night to see what would happen!  (she still got money and got to keep the tooth, clever Em I say)

Pony Club

The girls are doing so well on their ponies - they are improving in confidence and skill every time they ride.  Here's a little clip of them trotting around together.

Wattle Festival Train ride

The annual Wattle Festival was a great opportunity to take a train ride back in history... The whole family enjoyed puffing along on the stream train, enjoying the company of good friends.

Happy 6th B'day Emily

4 days after moving Emily celebrated her 6th b'day.  Afternoon tea with Meghan her friend and then a gymnastics party on the following weekend, along with a Pike family lunch meant that Emily was well and truly spoilt and had a wonderful b'day celebration.
Afternoon tea on the new toadstool chairs.

Happy b'day on her actual b'day

Everyone had a ball at the gymnastics party - lots of running, jumping and swinging around !

The party girl gets to go on the harness and gets swung in the air - Emily mastered the art of back flips with ease.

Happy b'day to you, happy b'day to you, happy b'day dear Emily, happy b'day to you !!
