Holidays with the Walker clan

After Christmas we headed up the the Brisbane Walkers where we spent three weeks with Ma, Pa and Bec as well as the London Walkers, who were over for a visit too.

We spent a bit of time in Brisbane, swimming most days and visiting Thomas the tank engine (highlight for Abi). Then we headed up the Sunshine Coast where we stayed for another couple of weeks.

We were very busy and managed to swim everyday, in either the swimming pool or beach, as well as go to Australia zoo, The Ginger factory, The Super Bee, play mini golf, go out for Grandma's b'day lunch as well as have a bit of time for some R&R.
Here's some photos.....

More Chrissy presents when we arrived in QLD... Swimming in Ma and Pa's pool. Both girls gained so much confidence and increased skill level swimming every day, it was great for both of them.
Visiting the Thomas exhibition...
Up to the Sunshine coast and off to Australia zoo. Abi got to see Bindi the jungle girl, she was quite excited. Here we are patting a baby croc.
Some fun friends from the croc show.
We both enjoyed feeding the Kangaroos...

although this was as close as Em was prepared to get.

Adrian, Rachel, Bec and Jamie on the train at the Ginger Factory.

Although we were very busy, the best times were hanging out on the beach with our family and enjoying the great Australian sun, surf and sand! (After doing a bit of slip, slop, slapping of course!) The girls loved playing in the rock pools.

Abi was quite the intrepid explorer, always wanting to go onto the next rock pool to see what she might find...

After all the exploring there was time to sit and play in the sand and...

hang out with Pa on the water's edge.

And at the end of the holiday we vowed to keep in touch with out little London cousin....

Christmas 2007

Christmas presents seem to have been coming for quite a few days now, and it's not over yet. We decided to open our present boxes from Grandma and Grandpa on Christmas eve morning... The girls loved opening their boxes with a variety of toys and books inside.
Then on Christmas eve we got presents from Nanny and Poppy and aunties as well as one or two from Mum and Dad.
Emily got a new keyboard, complete with microphone.
Abi got a new bike!

Then on Christmas day, there were more presents from Mum and Dad as well as Santa of course.
Abi got a new 'Dora' kite, which she enjoyed flying with Daddy and Poppy. Emily loved her animal puzzle and thought that anything Abi could do she could do better (or at least try to do!)We had a lovely Christmas, pretty quiet with both Kellie and Lisa in other places, but a nice family time all the same.

Kellie's Wedding 15th December

Little Kellie Jane got married to the lovely Roland on weekend. An outdoor wedding is always risky, but it stopped raining 15mins before we walked down the isle and although it was a little chilly during the ceremony it turned out to be perfect weather for dancing and relaxing in the marque.

Kellie looked beautiful and was certainly a blushing bride.

It was a little chilly....

The girls had a great time dancing the night away.

Hammock

Summer time is here.... so that means lazy days in hammock.

Christmas Tree decoration

Earlier in the month we brought our tree in from outside and decorated it for the festive season.

ok, that's enough now ...
