Riding Lessons

Abi's riding lessons are going well. She has only had 3 and is already able to turn, stop and start all by herself (it helps to have a great pony that knows the drill).

She loves it, unlike Emily who very clearly said "No" when asked would she like to sit on the pony... ahh well, give her time, she'll come round.
Emily thinks it's much more fun to sit on the side lines an cheer with Poppy.

Warmer Weather

Well, the warmer weather has hit so it's time to throw off those Winter clothes and prepare for Summer. Some water safety in the paddling pool is a good start to prepare for those days spent by the pool later in the season.

When the weather warms up it is very important to protect your eyes, whilst looking very cool in the process. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what the weather, there is always time to get stuck in a chair....
and dress up as a clown!
And to those we don't manage to catch up with before Christmas - MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.

Abi's 1st Horse Riding Lesson

Well, it's finally happened. Abi has had her first horse riding lesson. She had a great time and was very definite that she wanted to go back again another time. She was very relaxed, as though she'd been riding all her life (which of course she has been having pony rides for as long as she can walk).

The only girl I know who says "take a photo of me with my beads and riding hat on." Always the girly girl.
Abi's first riding lesson.
Having her first trot. She though it was 'pretty good', and 'very bumpy'.Starting to learn how to steer - winding in and out of the cones.
Em wanting to get in and have a go.

Fine - if I'm not allowed to go in and ride then I'll sit here and make a mess in the sand and manure instead!

Having cuddles with Nanny is always good.

Geelong - Cup Day

To celebrate Julia finishing the end of her course (hurray it's all finished) and to do some shopping on cup day we went to Geelong with Nanny. We all had a lovely day, even though it was a bit quieter than normal with Julia having laryngitis. We went to Eastern beach, had a swim and play on the playground, then went out to dinner with Aunty Sarah, Aaron, Poppy and Nanny. It was a great day.

End of October

The end of October saw a few visitors come and go from the Walker home. While Julia finished her final teaching rounds Grandma Chris came to look after the girls. We also had some visitors of the more native kind. Our friendly Echidna and Kangaroos have come back, which we always love.

After an interesting dinner out this is Emily having a temper tantrum in the driveway refusing to come inside.

Yes, this is the same girl!!!!

Here are the girls relaxing in sunshine after a busy few weeks.
